Hi Eagle Point,

2020 Dues letters went out 2 weeks ago. If you have not received your dues letter please call the EPHOA Office at 205-314-5793 or send an email to [email protected]. You will find in this mailing a letter from the HOA President, the proposed budget for 2020, your annual invoice and a 2020 ballot (2 board positions available.) The Annual dues this year are $275.00. You will find an invoice that lists the 2020 EPHOA dues and also a list of other fees if you are not up to date. Return your payment with the invoice by mail or pay online by going to ephoa.org and clicking on the Pay Dues Online link (left side of HOME page). Payment must be received by close of business on Friday, January 31, 2020. Payment after this date and time will be considered late and your next invoice will include a $50 late fee. Picture of the dues mailing is attached.

The annual meeting of the Eagle Point Homeowners Association will be held on Tuesday, January 14th at 7:00PM at the Hampton Inn off Farley Lane.

EPHOA MEETING

The Annual Meeting of the Eagle Point Homeowners Association will be on Tuesday, January 14^th at 7:00PM. Your HOA wants to thank the The Hampton INN at Lee Branch for hosting the meeting.

In the interest of time management for next weeks HOA meeting, please submit any questions you have or topics youd like discussed by close of business on Monday, January 13^th to [email protected].

SERGEANT CARTER

The Birmingham Police Department and surrounding community suffered a tragic loss last January 12th, 2019 when Sergeant Wytasha Carter, age 44, was killed in the line of duty. This hit close to home last year, because the Carters are residents of Eagle Point. The HOA will be honoring Sergeant Carter by placing memorial ribbons on all entrance signs and stop signs throughout Eagle Point. If you still have your blue ribbon, please join us in honoring Sergeant Carter by putting the ribbon back on your mailbox. If you don't have a ribbon, you can purchase one for $15 (please bring exact cash) at the HOAs management office at 4000 Eagle Point Corporate Drive. All proceeds will go to the Carter family.

January 9^th is also Law Enforcement Appreciation Day!

A note from Misti Steed, HOA Board member

Good afternoon, Eagle Point. I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow night at 7:00 at The Hampton Inn for our annual HOA meeting. As the new year begins, Id like to cover a few housekeeping items...

Just today, our management agency has fielded at least five complaints about street parking and dogs barking. This is representative of the volume and content of complaints that come in. Our covenants cover noise issues like barking, so please be respectful of your neighbors when you leave your dog outside; you may be accustomed to or even grow used to the sound of your dogs barking, but your neighbors might not. While Im always a proponent of residents addressing issues without our intervention, I realize that this kind of thing can be sensitive.

A number of folks, including myself, were bothered by the noise of fireworks on New Years Eve. While the noise is technically covered by our covenants, this is a particularly hard one to police - given that there are 700+ homes in Eagle Point with five volunteer Board members who arent necessarily even home at the time of the fireworks going off. We live in unincorporated Shelby County, where fireworks are legal. Shelby County ordinance number 03-12-22-11 regarding noise in Shelby County can be found at this link: https://www.shelbyal.com/DocumentCenter/View/42/Noise-Ordinance?bidId= . It does not specifically address the sound of fireworks, but section 3 can loosely be interpreted to cover fireworks. Id suggest talking to your neighbor if you have a problem. If you feel so led, you can call the Sheriffs Office to report, keeping in mind that its a non-emergency issue for them. In the future, Ill be sending out reminders prior to Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and New Years Eve to remind Eagle Point residents to use courtesy when they use fireworks.

Complaints are becoming more frequent about folks parking on the street. We had an intense period of enforcement, followed by a period of improvement in this area. We will be communicating directly by mail with residents on a few streets that seem to be bigger problems. I encourage you to comply with our covenants requiring residents to park in their driveways. Our first responders, our waste collectors, our postal carriers, and our school bus drivers have all asked for our cooperation in this area.

Lastly, Republic Waste Services has taken over the garbage collection for Eagle Point. You shouldve gotten a bill in the last week or so. Please make sure youve gotten a bill so that your service isnt interrupted. Also, update your online banking to reflect the new payee information for Republic.

Eagle Pointer - Sidewalk Repair ALERT

ALERT - The Landing and The Trace Neighborhoods!!!

EPHOA has contracted JK Construction to make much needed sidewalk repairs in The Landing and in The Trace. These are the only areas in Eagle Point where roads were planned to accommodate sidewalks, and there exist some dangerous areas of concrete failures. JK Construction informed us today that they are able to begin work immediately and will begin staging their equipment today. Please, be aware of the activity and use caution driving in areas where you see work being done. Should you have questions, please email [email protected]. (Please let your neighbors know of the upcoming repairs)

Just a reminder that your 2020 Eagle Point HOA dues are due before close of business on Friday, January 31, 2020. Any payments received after the due date are subject to a $50 late fee. If you need to make your payment in person, you may take you check to the front desk at our management agency, YourOffice USA, at 4000 Eagle Point Corporate Drive.

Hi Eagle Point!

In order to facilitate more efficient garbage service, please observe the guidelines below. Our Republic Waste service man is spending a lot of extra time getting in and out of his truck; our service quality will improve if we can do these things.

Please park in your driveway, not on the street. The garbage route is repeatedly slowed down by cars parked on the street, especially in cul-de-sacs.

Place your trash can some distance away from your mailbox so that the arm of the garbage truck has space to reach your garbage can without damaging your mailbox.

If you have multiple garbage cans, leave enough space between them for the arm of the garbage truck. Otherwise, he has to get out of his truck to move your garbage cans.

Do not put garbage in your recycle can. If you need an additional garbage can, you can contact Republic and pay the increased cost. Using the recycle can for garbage is not the solution.
