Eagle Pointer re: Spring Maintenance
New year, updated message regarding home and yard maintenance…
Spring has arrived and, along with it, spring cleaning and lawn maintenance. Please consider this a reminder that Eagle Point's covenants require homeowners to maintain their lawns, including trees, shrubs, and landscape beds. Soon after Easter, our administrative assistant with our management agency will begin checking yards in earnest for compliance with our covenants. We ask that all residents minimize the need for covenant violation letters by taking the steps listed below to be in compliance. Preemptively, if you're working on a problem with weeds, for example, or if you're planning to prune shrubs or cut down a dead tree - give us a head's up by calling the office at 205-314-5793 or by emailing details to [email protected]. Neither your Board members nor the HOA's management agency seek to insult or harass residents, but form letters are the only way to manage architectural issues with 700+ homes to monitor. A violation letter is generally resolved easily through resident communication. The goal of the HOA is continued maximization of property values in Eagle Point, and homes that are maintained properly lead to higher values. A few bad looking yards stand out in our community, and your weeds also create problems for you neighbors. Your Board is grateful that in a community of our size, most residents comply with our covenants and are great neighbors to each other!
* Engaging a weed control service is essential in our area of the country. Ask a neighbor for a recommendation if you need help in this area.
* Your lawn should be cut regularly once the growing season begins.
* Dead trees and shrubs should be removed and disposed of properly. Stumps should be removed, and shrubs should be pruned
* Landscape beds should have coverage like mulch or pine straw, and tree roots should not be exposed.
* All mailboxes should be maintained with all working parts and with visible numbers. You can spray paint your mailbox with pretty much any glossy black spray paint. You can order replacement scrolls by emailing [email protected]. Your numbers should be preprinted and properly sized; the brass looking numbers you see on many mailboxes are available at this link https://betterboxmailboxes.com/mailbox/brass-mailbox-number-zero/
* Remove, repair, or replace damaged fences.
* Do not make changes to the exterior of your home before submitting an ARCC request form for approval. Our covenants require this approval, especially if you want to change paint colors or paint your brick. You can replace your roof with the same shingles or repaint your trim or front door the same color. Any changes to these things require an ARCC form; you can call or email the office to request a blank form.
THE EAGLE POINT NEIGHBORHOOD-WIDE GARAGE SALE IS SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 13, 2024 FROM 7:00-2:00! Residents traditionally put a red ballon on their mailbox if they’re participating. This can be a great motivator to get that spring cleaning done and make some money in the process!
