Chelsea had a town meeting on April 16th to hear opposition and proponents for a one percent sales tax increase. Currently the tax is eight percent. This one percent would add $100,000 a month in revenue to fund numerous capital projects and personnel expenses. We have received emails regarding grass shavings being blown into storm drains. This activity is illegal and leads to blockages, backups and environmental problems. If you use a landscaping company or are a do-it-yourself yard person please bag your shavings for trash pickup.
For residents of The Landing with retaining walls, please add to your normal yard maintenance cleaning out any trash and debris that is caught behind the walls. In order for the retaining walls to do their job, they must be maintained. With all the rainfall we have had recently we have noticed that there are several sections where there is enough debris that the water is either running, standing or running over into homeowner’s yards. Thanks.
The EPHOA routinely receives complaints regarding speeding vehicles in our neighborhood. If you encounter any dangerous driving that should be dealt with immediately, please call the Shelby County Sheriff's department at 669-4181. Otherwise, please record the date and time of incident along with the driver's tag number and submit this information to the EPHOA at firstname.lastname@example.org. The EPHOA will then submit this information to the sheriff. We believe that encouraging all residents to participate in this feature of the neighborhood watch will increase safety in our neighborhood.

We have two extra tickets to the Talladega Race for Sunday, May 5, that we would like to sell. Face value ($75 each). In Moss Thornton track level section, right at start-finish line, stage where drivers are introduced, and jumbotron. Seats are in the shade by 1:00 PM (which is awesome for sun-haters like me).
